MULLEN'S MIRACLES Providing Individualized Options, Respective Support Systems and Support Provisions to those on the edge, those assisting others in crisis and for those that have lost a loved one to suicide. OUR MISSION Our deepest purpose is to create a safe learning community of hope while providing resources and programs to those suffering from the impact of suicide. I met Kathy Mullen in 2012 while on the road with another dear musician and friend, Hugo Duarte. We became good friends, and it wasn't long before Kathy approached me with a significant interest in joining the music business. I was looking for a change, agreeing to work together on my solo musical career while showing her the ropes. A short time later, Kathy started working with my band, A1A, moving to Atlanta, becoming integral with A1A, and continuing involvement with the industry. Early on, Kathy was instrumental in helping me partake in a rarely offered Master Class by award-winning composer and recording artist Gino Vannelli. Over the next few years, I continued to study under Mr. Vannelli, and in 2017 we agreed to make an album together. Unfortunately, the lockdown of Covid 19 brought the recording to a snail's pace; however, we did finish the album recording summer of 2021. By this time, Kathy was the full executive producer of the project. In the fall of 2018, catastrophic tragedy struck with Kathy's only child, Eric, taking his own life at 26. Eric was a bright, intelligent, compassionate, and loving young man with everything to live for. Eric loved the outdoors and was very curious about life. He was deeply loved and will forever be missed by so many people. To honor Eric's memory and help others prevent suffering from the impact of suicide, Kathy was passionate about forming Mullen's Miracles, a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization. Through her battles with grief, Kathy began building Mullen's Miracles in the late spring of 2020 when we were in Oregon, recording my album with Gino Vannelli. From the beginning of Eric's loss and the start of Mullen's Miracles, we strategized on the nonprofit and that the music projects intertwining as music and the arts are healing components of life. As the album progressed, we noticed that there would be a couple of songs that would help support the message conveyed by Mullen's Miracles. Yet we continued seeking a vision of intertwining music with Mullen's Miracles. Ross Vannelli is a highly successful, award-winning songwriter, engineer, video director, and producer, and we were working with Ross on videos for my album. Kathy, Ross, and I all hit it off immediately, and work has been highly productive, creative, and fun on the songs for my album. Over several lengthy discussions, we shared what Mullen's Miracles is about with Ross and how we want to see it grow and help people. Ross is a highly creative artist, constantly coming up with many prolific ideas. He quickly engaged with Kathy's story and our mission with Mullen's Miracles, wanting to bring our vision to life and creatively strategizing with us to add original music to Mullen's Miracles. Before we left, Ross had written two songs for Mullen's Miracles, and we barely made it home when he called with the news that he had written a few more. Since July, we have finished one original song and video for Mullen's Miracles, which will be released in December. We reconvene with Ross in January 2023 to continue creating a vision of music videos specific to Mullen's Miracles. Our discussion, interaction, and experience bringing Ross Vannelli into Mullen's Miracles have unexpectedly taken our mission and broadened our possibilities, an incredible honor! I encourage you to please check out our extensive website at MullensMiracles.org, create a login and join our community. There are numerous ways in which you can help us help those who are in crisis.
